Data storage and protection

All data generated and collected within the project, including soil and water quality measurements, satellite imagery, meteorological data, and geo-referenced sampling locations from pilot activities, are stored and managed in a secure and structured manner. Data are hosted on protected servers with controlled access, ensuring availability, integrity, and confidentiality throughout the project lifecycle.

Access to project data is restricted to authorized project partners and relevant stakeholders, based on clearly defined roles and responsibilities. Appropriate technical and organizational measures are implemented to prevent unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure of data, in line with applicable EU and national data protection regulations.

The project complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and relevant ethical standards. Personal data, where applicable, are minimized, pseudonymized or anonymized, and processed solely for the purposes defined within the project. Geo-referenced data are handled with particular care to avoid unintended identification of individuals or sensitive locations.

Data retention periods are defined in accordance with project requirements, contractual obligations, and funding rules. After the end of the project, data are either securely archived for future research and policy support or disposed of in a controlled manner, in line with the project’s Data Management Plan and FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), where applicable.
