Institutions
BioSense, Research and Development Institute for IT in biosystems, is a pioneer in digital transformation of agriculture in Serbia, founded in 2015. Exploring scientific and technological frontiers regarding the application of IT in agriculture, the Institute strives to deliver state-of-the- art digital solutions to the farming sector in Serbia and the world, in order to ensure higher yields with smaller investments. Material science, micro and nano electronics, sensor design, remote sensing, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, biosystem research, cellular agriculture and bioarcheology are just some of the scientific fields BioSense integrates to make agriculture more efficient and uses science as a backbone for economic growth, social well-being, and employment.

Faculty of Technology (FoT NS), the leading entity within the University of Novi Sad, with the highest number of published papers (0.93) in international journals (IJs) per researcher in 2020. Being situated in Novi Sad, the administrative centre of the Vojvodina Province, known as the main Serbian area for agriculture, food, chemical and oil petrochemical industries, FoT NS positioned itself as a confident partner for numerous industry players, innovations and technical solutions in these domains. FoT NS as a modern academic institution has coordinated numerous domestic and international projects in the fields of basic sciences and technological innovations. Thus, FoT NS has prestigious experience in project management, including coordination and administration of international (HORIZON EUROPE, FP7, IPA HU-SRB, etc.) multipartner and/or multidisciplinary projects, trainings development and lecturing, active interaction with different research stakeholders, being an important part of the wider EU research network.

Compatibility of the team
Both institutions are a leaders in relevant fields for environmental analysis and sensor development and application, making a great combination on what and how to measure by state-of-the-art approach.
BioSense provides most advanced in-filed monitoring of volatile organic compounds by portable membrane inlet mass spectrometer. Equally important to realize major goals of the project, data processing by advanced methods gives deeper knowledge of pollution spread and predicting how may that happen.
FoT NS has a long successful history in emerging pollution evaluation in the whole environment by advanced analytical methods, validated by many projects and accredited methods, as well as methods developed for specific proposes like in EnviLife project. This is a foundation of the project implementation.
Resources for the realization of envisioned goals include equipment for mass spectrometry, open environmental databases, satellite imaging and hardware to store and process data swiftly

Laboratories at BioSense Institute
Portable Membrane inlet Mass Spectrometer (MIMS) with GCMS and full testing setup for validation of the sensor. Data center and in-house data platform for gathering and analysis of satellite imaging and environmental data.
State-of-the-art equipment for CEC analysis including UHPLC-MS and UHPLC-HRMS Orbitrap with SPE-based preparation of samples
